There is mountains range located from west to south of Jogjakarta. People named it Menoreh Mountains. Actually, it is located from central java province, especially at Magelang and Purworejo regency. The part of Menoreh Mountain that placed at jogja was located at Kulonprogro and Bantul regency.
It is interesting that the mountains still green with many trees. The inhabitants still natural with their culture, life in harmony with the nature. The mountain were so wide and that make there is still many area were reserved in their natural. There are no many access roads to get there.
Menoreh has thousands of peaks. People belief that there is one peak that it is the highest peak among all. The peak located at Kulonprogro regency, near the territory of Purworejo. People named it Suroloyo with its elevated 1.091 from sea level. The view of 4 mounts at Java, Merapi, Merbabu, Sumbing and Sindoro was the beautiful scenery you can see in the morning, above the mist.
You can reach this point by two route choices. First route was from Godean-Nanggulan-Kalibawang -Suroloyo, Second from Muntilan-Kalibawang- Suroloyo. You must hire a good driver to get there with the powerful vehicle because the road was dangerous. 
The road was narrow, there’s many turn, climb and descend. There’s canyon nearby. Even though, you will get bonuses, beautiful scenery along the road till the point. Better you fulfill the gas for your vehicle, because you have to ride hard for about 20 km from the main route. The peak still get 10 km from Sendangsono, one of the Catholic pilgrimages in Java. Sendangsono was known as The Grotto of Mother Mary, a place where the first Javanese baptized as catholic in Java.
Suroloyo was the end of this road. There is some hermitage at Suroloyo area; they’re named Suroloyo, Sariloyo and Kaendran. Suroloyo for Javanese has very important meaning. They belief that here, was the center point of java island, if you write a line from the west to east and from the north to south, you will find that the meeting point of this lines was here. Here too, the founding father of Mataram, The first King of Mataram, Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo got his divine inspiration to built Mataram at Jogjakarta right now.
Actually, from Here, your will get wide view of scenery. Just the mist will limit your view. From Suroloyo, you will see the glorious of Borobudur temple and the strong of Mount Merapi and Merbabu and the far Magelang city. From Sariloyo you will face the twin Sindoro and Sumbing at west side, and from Kaendran, the city of Wates through Glagah beach. I suggest you get here in the morning, because you will feel like in another world. There is just fog around you and you can’t see below. Just the summits of Merapi, Merbabu, Sumbing Sindoro far away with the mist bridge as the connection between. The Sunshines will pour your body and break through the fog beautifully, what a mysterious nuance. Here’s some picture there, enjoy your self.
